Dispensary Team

The Dispensary is based at Kibworth and is led by Partner Dr R Hardman. Our team comprises of trained dispensers Samantha Gardner and Cheryl Littlejones.

Pharmacy Team

The Pharmacy Team is based at Kibworth and is made up of Renu Sangha and Barinder Singh.

Receptionist & Secretarial Team

The team is led by three Senior Receptionists, Catherine Mansfield, Elaine Tarr and Sally Thompson who have many years experience between them dealing with the day to day smooth running of the Reception.

Medical Secretaries

We have a very busy team of three highly trained medical secretaries based at Kibworth and Market Harborough. They are responsible for preparing referrals to secondary care, expediting reports, requesting medical notes, and arranging private referrals. The Nursing Team & Healthcare Assistants

Practice Matron

We are very pleased to have Lynne Emmingham BSc (Hons), RGN, DN, (Independent Prescriber) working with us as Practice Matron. Lynne is a highly experienced matron who is available to visit our most vulnerable chronically ill elderly patients who are unable to come into the surgery. Lynne is a nurse prescriber and works very closely with the doctors, practice based nurses and the community healthcare team.  She runs weekly clinics at Hallaton and Medbourne on Monday afternoons - for an appointment call 0116 279 2422.

Nurse Practitioners

We have nurse practitioners who run urgent illness clinics for adults and children over the age of 2, dealing with a wide range of acute conditions such as asthma, abdominal pains, back pain, chest infections, constipation , coughs/colds/sore throats, diarrhoea & vomiting, dizziness/nausea, ear & eye infections/problems, emergency contraception & pill checks, fungal toe nails, hay fever/ allergies/reactions, insect bites, medicine related issues and reviews, men’s health, rashes/eczema/skin irritations, short term musculo-skeletal issues/aches & pains, sunburn, urinary infections, viral/flu like illnesses, women’s health/ gynaecological issues. If you have one of these conditions, you can request, or you may be offered, an appointment with one of our nurse practitioners. When necessary the nurse practitioners can issue a prescription in the same way as a doctor.

Practice Nurses

The Practice Nurses are fully trained in a broad spectrum of clinical care and provide the following services to our patients: dressing and wound Care, treatment of minor illnesses, cervical smears, vaccinations, travel advice and vaccinations, contraception advice, ear syringing, INR Tests and dosing, medication reviews, cryotherapy to warts and verrucas, menopausal care, smoking cessation.
Our Practice Nurses have also had specific training to care for patients with heart disease, diabetes, asthma and COPD.

Healthcare Assistants

We employ Healthcare Assistants who play a vital role assisting our experienced Nursing Team.
They are able to provide the following services: Blood Tests, New Patient Screening, ECGs, Blood Pressures, Urinalysis, 24 hour Blood Pressure Monitors.
Should you wish to see one of our Practice Nurses or Health Care Assistants, appointments are available between 7.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday. Please book appointments through our Receptionist Team.

Primary Healthcare Team

Two Shires Medical Practice is part of the East Leicestershire and Rutland CCG, and in addition to the staff we directly employ, the Practice is supported by medical professionals commissioned by the CCG to work within our surgeries and local community.


We offer a service at The Old School Surgery, Kibworth and in Market Harborough for counselling. Please talk to your doctor if you feel you would benefit from her help.

Health Visitors

Penny Ely & Rachel Voce regularly hold well baby clinics at all our surgeries. To make an appointment please call The Old School Surgery, Kibworth 0116 279 2356 or Two Shires Surgery, Market Harborough 01858 411521.


Attached to our Practice are midwives who run clinics at Two Shires Surgery, Market Harborough on Tuesday 2.00 pm – 3.00 pm, and at The Old School Surgery on Wednesday 1.30 pm – 4.00 pm, and at Fleckney Surgery, Fleckney on Thursday 2.00 pm – 3.00 pm. Midwives also undertake domiciliary visits. The midwives are employed directly by Leicestershire Partnership Trust as part of the Market Harborough Community Midwifery Team and can be contacted either via one of our Surgeries listed above or directly by leaving a message on 01858 438142.

District Nurses

Your District Nurses are based at Market Harborough District Hospital and can be contacted on 0300 300 0027 or you can contact one of our three Surgeries, at Market Harborough, Kibworth & Fleckney. The District Nurses will visit patients who have been discharged by the hospital and those who are temporarily or permanently housebound. Please note District Nurses organise their own timetables and work independently from Two Shires Medical Practice.
